There are two ways to buy a mobility scooter online or in store, when buying online there is normally a detailed description which gives information about the scooters features and restrictions, however when buying in store there is no detailed description and you will have to rely upon the information given to you by a sales person, which ever way you choose you should always check a number of factors.



Factors To Check When Buying A Mobility Scooter Are:


If the scooter does become obsolete, parts are usually available for a further 5 years (please check with the manufacturer)

Does the seller give a guarantee? If so; how long does it last? What does it cover? What doesn’t it cover?



Checking Parts


When a scooter is ordered from us we give the scooter a full Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) which covers:

• Charger
• Tyres
• Batteries

However if the scooter is not purchased from us then you should check these parts on delivery.

 


Before finally purchasing a mobility scooter check:


Will the scooter fit in your car?
Check the dimensions of your cars boot against the dimensions of the scooter.

Will the scooter fit around your home?
Check the dimensions of your door & hall ways, also check the height of steps into and out of your house, you may need a ramp for entry and exit.


Do you have ample storage for the scooter?
Check the scooters dimensions do you have a big enough storage area.


What is the maximum range of the scooter?
The maximum range of a scooter can depend upon the are a you live in, in areas with many hills and inclines the scooters range will be decreased, however in areas with very little hills and inclines the scooters range will be increased.

Can the scooter hold your weight?
Check the maximum user weight of the scooter, scooters can hold varied weights; travel scooters will only hold a small user weight where as heavy duty scooters will hold a heavier user weight.
